Floral Trends for Fall Designs

Ahhh, the seasons are a’ changing… Fall is on the way. This month Lynette will share the newest floral trends for your fall designs.

Cool Flowers for Hot Days

This month we will talk about getting the most from your garden’s bounty: care and handling for the hot days of August and cool tricks for design success.

June is Rose Month

Let’s visit about the care and handling requirements, view some beautiful cultivars from the Veterans Rose Garden at MSU, and design with wonderful rose varieties found in the cut flower market while paring them with foliages from our gardens.

Nostalgic Design…

Our flower gardens and designs so often come with joyful remembrances. This is the 'what was, and is, and shall be' of floral design in Mississippi today. We'll choose flowers from gardens of the past; design with old school mechanics and practice 'green' techniques that were common for the 'glory day' gardeners.

Going Green!!!

We will be celebrating Earth Day by filling repurposed and recycled containers with fresh flowers and foliages from our outdoor spaces.

Wicker Wonderland

Pull out those baskets from the 1970’s and 80’s, we are going to fill them with all sorts of new design ideas. Think lovely lilies, Chocolate Bunnies and Peeps, horizontal designs for table tops.

Gifts from the Heart

Floriculturists are gift-givers by nature with nature! We love to share what we grow and nurture; our labors are an extension of our emotions. Here’s the chance for us to share some of the labors of love to our Valentine sweethearts.

Japanese Floral Design

Ikebana is the Japanese art of floral design. Ikebana designs, with origins as far back as the 7th century, were made with only a very few stems of flowers and foliages. So, as our season changes and our garden flowers fade, let's visit this historical design style.
